500 Thai baht (about 50 cents in US dollars)
Apart from the 100 baht Thai Banknote, the 500 baht Thai Banknote is also used often by Thai People for larger purchases. Each Thai Banknote from 100 baht denomination upwards has a silver vertical line on the left hand side (shown in the picture) for security reasons. The 500 baht Thai Banknote is purple whereas the 1000 baht Thai Banknote is light brown. In contrast, the 100 baht Thai Banknote is red, the 50 baht Thai Banknote is blue and the 20 baht Thai Banknote is green in color.
1000 Thai baht (about 50 cents in US dollars)
This is the largest Thai Banknote. Since most things in Thailand do not cost 1,000 baht, this Thai Banknote is not used as often as other Thai banknote. If Thai People were to buy something costing a few thousands Baht, then they probably would use credit cards.
