Review of Korean Air to Thailand Part Two
Food on Korean Air flights
If you like Korean Food, then you will enjoy the food on Korean Air flights. However, most people do not agree with Korean Food. Korean Air often serves noodles the spicy Korean style or rice with veggie and some shredded meat with Korean spice. There is usually another dish you can choose but it is usually worse than most other airlines will serve. The chicken, for example, does not look like chicken. It’s dark and very unappetizing.
On the way to the US, Korean Air serves some snacks which are Korean or Asian. More foreigners forego eating food on Korean Air flights than on most other airlines. If you are flying Korean Air and you don’t like Korean food so much, bring your own snack.
The service on Korean Air flights to Thailand and Korea
The quality of service really depends on who you get on board your flight. Some Korean Air hostess are very nice and helpful, others make faces when you ask for extra water. If you are sitting in the middle seats and in the back rows, you are less likely to get any attention. You will have to get used to using the service button instead of waiting for one of the air hostesses to walk by. On most airlines, flight attendants are generally friendly and helpful and always saying nice things. However, on Korean Air, some flight attendants can have a straight face, not smiling and when giving you your food or drinks will not say a word or even look at you. On board a Korean Air flight, there is usually just one flight attendant who is genuinely nice and helpful and wouldn’t mind bringing you things that you need with a smile.
Flawed design of Korean Air seats
One major flaw of how the seats are on Korean Air planes is that when the person in front of you lean his or her chair backward, if you have your water cup where the cup is supposed to be, the seat in front of you will hit the cup spilling water or whatever liquid you have in the cup everywhere. This is a very flawed design. If your Korean Air plane has this problem, beware when you put any cups on your table in front of you.
Customs in the Korean International Airport
Compared to Japan and definitely the United States, customs and security checks are very lax in Korea. Usually in the United States, you have to take out the 3-1-1 bags, your laptop, and sometimes even jacket and shoes. In Korea, they don’t ask you to take out anything, not even the laptop. You don’t need to take off your shoes, jacket or any valuables. You can leave your 3-1-1 liquid in your bag. Even when they are not busy, they don’t check much. If you are travelling to the US, however, they will open your carryon bags and check just before you board the flight. This is not done in most other airports such as in Japan or Thailand.
If you are flying from Thailand to Atlanta GA by Korean Air, you will have a better time than to fly Japan Airline or American Airlines to Chicago or other bigger cities.
