The word for mice in the Thai language
The word for mice in the Thai language is
'Nuu'. Although, Nuu means mice or rats, Nuu
also refer to little girls. So, in Thailand, you will hear
the word 'Nuu' alot from old people to younger ones. They don't
mean mice though, they are referring to anyone younger than
them. If you don't know that the word for mice in the Thai
language also means 'little ones' then you may be confused and
think that Thai people worship mice because they talk about
them in such nice tones. However, as soon as you make it clear
to Thai people that you are really asking them about those
little dirty rodents, Thai people will change their tones and
some may even scream.
