Delta Airlines, for example, is a partner of Korean Air which fly to Bangkok, Thailand, via Incheon, Seoul in Korea.

If you are flying Delta Airlines, you will start your domestic journey on a Delta flight and then change to a Korean Air flight that flies to Incheon, Seoul, Korea. From Korea, you will also fly Korean Air to Bangkok. Although, your airline ticket to Thailand may say Delta Airlines, it will also say Korean Air.
