Although Chiangmai has improved a lot over recent years, most people in Chiang Mai, Thailand, are still farmers. They farm rice, grow lychee, grow cattle as well as other plants, vegetables, fruit and others. If you drive around Chiang Mai, not in the city, you will see many people working in the rice fields.
