Thai numbers are often overlooked when learning to speak, read and write the Thai language. Most people take for granted that Thai numbers are just Arabic numbers. Few people take notice to the Thai numbers and how different Thai numbers are to western numbers. How often are Thai numbers used?

Thai numbers are not used as often as Arabic numbers because most Thai people have adapted to the Western styles. You will see Thai numbers written in Thai calendars and at traditional events and festivals as well as at temples. Most education Thai people would write numbers, not in Thai numbers or Thai writing, but in Arabic or even Roman numerals.
