Napamaytanidol Chedi (The Queen’s Napamaytanidol Chedi)

On the main road to the summit of Doi Inthanon stand the two Napamaytanidol Chedi. These chedi or temples were built to honor the 60th birthday of the King and Queen in 1987 and 1992 respectively.

Vachirathan Waterfalls

Visit Vachirathan waterfalls, which are reached by a short, easy trail from the parking area. Vachirathan waters tumble down granite escarpment, creating a misty veil of great beauty. The Karen hill tribe village Ban Sop Had is near the Vachirathan waterfalls.

Wat Phrathat Chomthong and Hill tribe village

On our return trip, we will stop at a hill-tribe village and the small town of Chomthong, famous among Thai Buddhists for its temple: Wat Phrathat Chomthong. Spend time admiring the golden stupa and the architecture of the ancient viharn (the main building housing the Buddha statues).
