Wiang Kum Kam

If you love seeing ruins and love archeology, you do not want to miss seeing Wiang Kum Kam ruins in Chiangmai, Thailand. Wiang Kum Kam is not far from the city of Chiangmai. In fact, the ancient city of Wiang Kum Kam is right in the center of Chiangmai city, not far from the hotels in the city. From most Chiangmai hotels, you can drive to the best-preserved ruis of Wiang Kum Kam in about 15 minutes.

About the ancient ruined city of Wiang Kum Kam

There are 28 sites of ruins in the center of Chiang Mai city where Wiang Kum Kam was supposed to be. You cannot walk to them all, you have to either drive to them or take a horse carriage. Most of the time when you go on a Wiang Kum Kam tour that lasts half a day, you will only see just a few sites of Wiang Kum Kam that are the most exciting.

Most tour guides in Chiangmai don’t know all the Wiang Kum Kam sites – only well known ones that they often take tourists to. So, don’t be surprised if you see a ruin, want to stop by and your tour guide does not know anything about that site. All Wiang Kum Kam sites are amid other housing and other establishments.
